Namaste! You are on Sally Reet Vaino`s home page. Every person walks along a path. Hindus call it the dharma. Dharma is a divine, supreme order that guides life. To find your dharma and to live by it is one of the ultimate goals in a person's life according to old Hindu teachings. When you follow your dharma, it enlightens your whole being and brings along joy, peace and harmony. Discontentment comes from not following your dharma. Dharma changes through life according to your age and corresponding responsibilities. Every one of us reaches towards the inner, higher Self (including those who are not aware of it). Every one of us has a special quality – something we like to do, something that makes us feel in tune with the universe, makes us forget about everything, even the sense of time. Dharma is a way to your maximum potential through using your exceptional skills for the benefit of others. Creativity is part of my dharma . Drawing, painting, writing stories help me find this timeless space and consciousness. Story-telling is like a journey to different worlds. I do not make up the tales, they come to me. I observe and take notes. It is like a grand adventure that can start at any given moment. I never know when a tree, a rock, a lake on the road side or a bird flying by is ready to impart their story. Sometimes I get the whole story, other times I receive bits and pieces until I understand that they are all parts of the same picture – just like a puzzle, where the pieces fit together. The stories I write down change me. The process of writing is an important part of my spiritual quest. I have been to many places on the world. In their own way, each place has opened me up to new understandings and helped me along in finding my true being. The most significant of these places has been India, beyond compare. My spiritual search led me first time to India in 1998. To my astonishment, India was so close and familiar that I felt something I had not experienced before – I felt like I had come home. India is a magical place. Even the air there seems to be imbued with ancient knowledge, carried by countless generations and innumerable teachers and saints, who have lived and are living there. India changed me forever. She awoke in me and awakened me at the same time. From the first encounter, she has nurtured and supported me. Every time we meet, I come back enriched with priceless experiences. Travelling is a boundless source of inspiration for me.
